I have a comp on Sunday, so I went out for a little practice this evening.......wish I hadn't bothered.
So for the moment I'm back on V1 uppers
Juan...help!

Re: Jordi's Viper Berg
Wow, that is the first broken v2 I think, besides the thin one I broke this week
Re: Jordi's Viper Berg
I was really suprised it broke, because it wasnt a very hard fall.
Glad I had the V1's as spares, it wouldve been embarrasing not turning up on Sunday
I wont be mentioning it to anyone either, thats for sure

Good thing I read this when I did...I was able to get them packed and to the post office before they closed. I felt like Mr. Mcfeeley

Re: Jordi's Viper Berg
The comp was a complete washout today
We ran 1 course this morning between pouring rain showers, by 11.30 we broke for lunch..hoping for some sunshine.. we started at 9am!
It didnt happen, it was a small entry (12) so we decided to find a few dry bits and have an afternoon of practice.
The venue we used is great when dry, but when wet, its a different story, lots of mud between rocks so not much fun really, not much skill involved and even the easiest looking gates are impossible + risk of water damage to electrics
We had a blast, no pressure, nice and relaxed, good fun, my truck is running really well at the mo, was pulling some cool stuff off that made me smile
Wish we could've carried on with the comp, I would've done well I'm sure, but it wasnt my call..

Re: Jordi's Viper Berg
Here's a short video of some freestyle crawling I got up to after the comp was cancelled
The crappy phone vid really doesnt do it justice, this was mega hard..
It took a dozen or so goes to get it right, the rock was slick and covered in slime.
you had to edge across the ledge, then just as it started to slide off, full throttle on the front wheels which hooked it over the edge and swung the rear around....it looked so much cooler on the day

Re: Jordi's Viper Berg
Cell does just fine justice, it is just at the wrong angle, if it was rig side on the rock it would have been either way still
Re: Jordi's Viper Berg
Agreed,
I'm sure there was some cameras that got the better angle, will have to wait and see

Re: Jordi's Viper Berg
Sorry I've been a bit quiet of late....
It's been work, work, work for me, stressed out, too little for 10 months and now too much. Feast or famine
Anyways.
Our 2011 UK Nationals are this weekend 3-4th Sep, so I've put some time into the truck this last few days to get it ready
I havent altered it much, mainly replaced worn parts
Here's what I've done.
New Brood HHK 35T's
New Servo
Made up some Ti links for the lower rears to replace the T1E's
Rebuilt the axles with new bearings
New UGC V2 uppers
New roof and bonnet panels
I love it even more now
Hope the weather holds up, it's started to get cold and wet, the venue we are running at has a lot of mud (if it's wet) not good
Get the courses wet and a blind man has a chance of the win

Re: Jordi's Viper Berg
Thanks Bill
Here's my first course, my trigger finger was so jumpy , I couldnt stop it shaking, talk about pressure, I had it all to loose
I was the only dirver to make it all the way though to gate 10. Everyone else timed out
Judging/competitor error on gate 4 though, we all thought it was ok to reverse down it and those of us that did took a 20 pointer on that one

Re: Jordi's Viper Berg
wooooooo! congratulations Martin
What are your guys rules? gate 4 should be legit. you went through it the correct direction but in reverse. 1 pt. penalty. You can then drive through the gate in any direction after it is cleared, you never touched the gate so no additional penalty.
