Re: Jordi's Viper Berg
Got the job finished off just now, it took me longer than I thought
I used a method similar to how Illeagle did his.
If I had to do them again, I would get hold of someone with a lathe.......what a shit job it was
Anyway here are some pics
[img][/img]
I've set it at 20 degrees for now, I think this should be ok as Dicky suggested
I may just make a straight tierod now it it up and out of the way bit more
Havent had chance to test it properly yet as it's pissing down here and pitch black too, 10.30pm
Overall though I pretty pleased with my handywork on this one

Re: Jordi's Viper Berg
Took 3rd place today..
Not too pleased with that, had some bad luck with my group and the weather.
We ran two courses in the morning two in the afternoon..
The first course was fine, all rocks, the second course was a mixture, some sand and soil between rocks.
We ran the all rock course first and the other group ran the mixed course first.....then the heavens opened, totally changing our second course, puddles, mud, and no traction where we had to jump a gap, all the trucks went down the gap without fail, no traction up the next gate, then had to dig through a muddy puddle not good
1st and second place went to drivers on the other group, -27, -15 and then me on +6
Suppose it just the way it goes, but frustrating all the same
One thing is for sure, my truck ran well, very pleased with the knuckle weights, one bad thing I've found though, cause of the lack of weight in the wheels, I got stuck on my roof in some soft sand and I couldnt get it to rock back and forth to get it the right way up, had to take a rollover..
I'm going to have strip it down now to get all the mud out

I've gone to a little heavier wheel up front do to this. No weight in it, but 2oz heavier than an slw. 3rd is still good! We can;t win 'em all
Re: Jordi's Viper Berg
I've noticed the XR-10 is much smoother than my Fastback and is a bit harder to flip. My Fastback had slightly unbalanced wheels which helped in flipping from it's back. I'm not running knuckle weights yet, but will probably keep a little bit of weight in the wheels when I do now that you mention this.
edit: I just watched Articzap's video. I know he runs very light wheels and heavy knuckles, and he seemed to have a hard time with flipping over while on his back. He seems to also have a heavy finger and bursts over a lot of stuff causing his flips. He's not as good at it as Martin is....still don't know how Martin pulls of his jumps and leaps and always lands so well. I guess that's what being a Champion is all about

Re: Jordi's Viper Berg
Ok, so this isnt really my truck, but my 7yr old son's
I need a punk dig for it, I have two but theyre both faulty
No one in the UK has a spare and Robin Bailey at Punk is useless
There is a guy over here that can fix them, but he wont be able to do so until September (long story)
So, the reason for my post on here rather than RCC is simple.
Have any of you fellas got a spare?
If not, is there any chance (if I paypal you some money over) you could get hold of one for me and send it as a gift?? as I'm tired of getting hit by custom charges
Earlier Dicky was kind enough to offer something similar with an fxr, but that sorted itself out when Castle sent me a new V2 Sidewinder free of charge (result!!)
Back to my truck!
I've just pre ordered some of Will's link mounts, they look good and to have so much adjustment should be interesting
Still unsure about what to do about wheels and knuckle weights, the problems I'm having getting back on my wheels with SLW's all round is making me probably go back to DH's unweighted and just the knuckle body.......still carrying out testing.

Re: Jordi's Viper Berg
I have a punk if Juan does not need it
Try putting 2 oz inside the front slw's then tune the knuckle weights!

I'm going to have mine looked at this weekend...I'm pretty sure he can fix it. If not, I'm going 4PL.

Let me get it sent over, make sure it works. If it does the cost of shipping will do just fine

Re: Jordi's Viper Berg
Added 2oz of lead to all my front SLW's at the weekend.
Now still running the body and 2no .3 rings either side....and it works!
I love it....
I was testing the roll over capabilities on the drive and stripped ALL the teeth off a stock 3rd gear at the back..
SDS 3rd fitted, so hopefully it wont happen again..

Re: Jordi's Viper Berg
On a slightly different note..
Our UK Nationals have just been announced for the 3rd and 4th of September..
Here is the tricky bit, there seems to be some unrest between the Welsh and the English!!
The organisers have set the venue in Wales without telling the Welsh competitors (who helped to organise the 2010 Nats)
To cut a long story short a few choice words have been exchanged and a certain driver/organiser has been told he isnt welcome..
This has just made him want to go more...mainly to rip someones head off !!
So it looks we are looking for a new venue already
The joys

Just a thought, will the fxr's handle 13T? I think possibly not?

Re: Jordi's Viper Berg
fxr's have a 12t limit on 540 cans Run the larger CI caps if you have any concerns.
