Well everyone else is starting their own thread, so i guess i will too.
Here she was before the comp on sunday.
I got some new upper link mounts from a rcc member. They move the mounting point up a little, and in about 20mm. Made it pretty easy to inboard the upper links. Feels smooth, still flexes well. Hope fully ill get my replacement gear for my 7950 by this weekend, so i can test it out. I totally sucked at the comp on sunday, I just ate up gates left and right. Finished dead last. And then blew out the gear in my 7950 on course 5. Started the finals course with basically NO steering. Turned it mostly with the dig. But got 3 progress. But Tyler got second

That new link mount is sexy Bill! I should be back crawling with you guys in a few weeks after all the family is gone. I have not seen any of them in 7 years since my wedding so I have to play the good son role as well as good daddy role
I may sneak out a bit Saturday morning.

Thanks DT. Yeah the mount is cool. Its lighter, and also has 3 vertical holes for mounting the upper links.(cant see fom my pics) Every little bit of available adjustment is good. Supposedly my gear for my 7950 is in the mail today, from missouri. I hope to get it back together this week. Then we can meet up Sat.

Well got a few goodies. Avid bearings for me and Ty. Some killer lipos from EddieO. These lipos are exactly the same size as the Krawler Hobbies 850's i got a couple weeks ago. I really like the size. Got more 850's on preorder from KH, for Ty and me. Man its killing me buying two of everything. Wish this kid would get a job. ECC here we come!!!

Hey Juan, got the new " snubnose" chassis from Richard. Thanks, looks great. I think i am just going to mount the top up for now. Ill go with the thinner C/F after ECC. If thats OK with you?

Re: Billjs viper berg
I kind of figured you would all mount the thinner CF after ECC...No reason to take any chances. The top shouldn't matter since all the mounting locations are identical.
Re: Billjs viper berg
I think Richard and Wade got out for a little while yesterday? Maybe they abused it (C/F) some. I haven't heard from those guys. But yes, i was a little nervous about taking it untested with the thin C/F. I will definetly put it on after I like the new top , with the snubnose

Well shes ready for ECC. Same paint scheme as last time, but without the viper sticker. It looked a little cheesy.
Tyler and I ready to play with the big boys!!

Re: Billjs viper berg
Hey Bill, what hubs are you running in your front SLW's? and how much weight?
I've just had another delivery today from Erik D.
I originally picked up a Berg set consisting of the main weight with 2no. 0.1'' rings for each side
Now I have 2no. 0.3'' rings per side + 2no of the big fuck off steel ones, god only knows what I'm going to do with those beasts
VP are sending some 475 slw hubs, Erik told me I should be able to fit 2no 0.3 rings each side with these..

Hey Martin,Im running the 460 dh hubs. i have 1-.300 ring and 2-.100 rings. I tried a third .100 ring but it would not clear the wheels. Let me know if the steel rings work? Thanks

I'd never thought to try the DH hubs, are they a direct fit? I'm too tired to go and look tonight

Re: Billjs viper berg
I tried putting some 475 slw hubs on the front, it made for lots more room for weights. It also made my track width about 1/4 in wider(11 1/4") Dont know if i like it. Will probably go back to 460's. Let me know what you end up with, thanks.

I've ended up with 475 hubs on SLW 3's, It tried it with 2 x .300 rings, but the wheel was just catching, so I'm trying it with 2 x .100 and 1x .300 for now
I thought about increasing the wheel hex from 5mm up to 7mm, this should give me the clearance I need to run 2x .300's
The steel ring....I cut one down to just above centre, and had to dremmel a bit out where my king pin screw sits, but I'm still unsure of what to do with it..

Re: Billjs viper berg
Had a state comp yesterday in Tampa. Started the day 20 points behind Wade for 2nd place overall in fl state series. Started the day with a 24 on the first course. So i thought wade was gone.(he completed course one). But I came back strong with a -18 on course 2, and finished the 2 remaining courses. Well in the end i finished third on the day(my highest state finish ever), and Wade and i tied for second overall (my highest overall finish ever). Truck is running very well , new rear links kick ass. I know there were a couple of times the added clearance helped me Congrats to Wade for a hard fought battle. It came down to the very last run of the season. If i had hit one less gate in the finals, i would have finished second for the day And that would of put me all alone in 2nd for the state series. But if i had to tie, im glad it was with a teammate Thanks to Dickyt and Wade for the help this year. And of course thanks to Juan for the killer chassis

Re: Billjs viper berg
had a local comp sun. I was able to pull off a win, thankfully. On the finals run i had to get a 0 or less to win, was able to squeak out a -9 My Viper is doing really well, im very happy with it. The truck is very predictable now. Maybe its just me having more driving time, i would like to think the driver has something to do with it. Anyway a third last week at state. And a first at local comp this week , im pretty happy. The guy who finished 1st last week at state, is the guy i beat sunday. He usually beats us like step children, DickyT can verify that. Man it feels good to beat a guy that whips ya ALL the time.
