Re: Jordi's Viper Berg
Congrats Martin!!!! So sic!
I rewatched it a couple times and I suspect that gate was supposed to be driven up, not down. Am I correct Martin?

What are your guys rules? gate 4 should be legit. you went through it the correct direction but in reverse. 1 pt. penalty. You can then drive through the gate in any direction after it is cleared, you never touched the gate so no additional penalty.

You are correct, it was supposed to be driven up and not down.
Skippee drove it this way, I followed, (along with a few more) doh.
It made no difference, I finished on +7, 2nd place Ruffryder +85, 3rd place Skippee +143
The courses were hard, I helped to mark out, we made them hard on purpose, it was the Nationals after all.
I just didnt expect the rest of the field to be so far behind..
I was as nervous as hell, I had everything to lose.
If you watch the vid you can hear how twitchy I drove, I'm usually butter smooth..

Not crawler related I know, but here is my new van.... you may be interested, you might not
I feel I've been out of the crawling loop for a little while, what with work and some other stuff going on, I've had to nearly rebuild my garage to fit this beauty in, couldnt leave it on the driveway.
Should be back buiilding the V2 very soon..
This is how she looked when I took delivery...a bit plain
2 before pics the day I took delivery
A few thousand English pounds, some 20'' alloys, lowered suspension, limo tints, sound deadening, carpeting, Sat nav AV kit and plenty elbow grease and taa daa
The VW transporters have quite a cult following over here.....
Some after pics

Re: Jordi's Viper Berg
After weeks (actually months) of me being pestered by my 8yr old son, I thought it was time to hook him up with a new truck..
Thanks Juan for the bits I needed to finish this off for him, he doesnt know its done yet, he's asleep, it's 11.30 pm here.
He was running my old BJ4 with a punk, a sidewinder and all the usual junk.. till he had yet another bonfire in the thing, puffing a lipo, smoking the esc and frying the punk I got off Dicky for fucks sake
Anyway, he is now on 2x fxr's and a 4PL not bad for a kid !
Here we go, Team UGC UK
I need to make some new panels, get myself some new 300's so he can have my old ones, and sort the C hub mod for him, but it'll be fine for him for now

Ha Ha, Tyler beats me every once in a while(makes me proud). At least your son is still young, he will listen to you. Tyler is 17th, he wont listen to shit, he knows everything. Well he wont listen to me anyway.

Re: Jordi's Viper Berg
Here's what I posted on our UK forum earlier tonight.......by the way, did I ever mention I love my Berg
''Thought it was about time I got down to a rebuild
After discussions with a fella crawler with access to a lathe I decided to get my tubes off to him for a little work..
In the mean time I set to work on the gear cases with the dremmel, for a spot of polishing
1 week later and they're back albeit lighter and a little bit sexier
So the specs are as follows, rear first, front to follow
Berg gear cases, anodising stripped off and polished
Rox'd Berg tubes, machined to 14mm, 'C' s cut off and milled for lockouts, drilled out for extra weight reduction by yours truly
RC Bros lockers
RC Bros adjustable top link mount (to be swapped for something else)( MF Designs Link)
SDS customs 3rd and Gunner's hardened pins
RC Axle masters shafts
Axial lockouts anodising stripped off and polished
New bearings throughout.
The difference between this and a stock axle is almost 2.5 ounces..
Modded axle ready to go
and a box stock rear axle setup
both together for comparison
Hoping to work on the front tomorrow evening''

Re: Jordi's Viper Berg
No doubt! Looking good
I might have to keep a lookout in the classifieds for a set of these...I really like the looks of them.

Re: Jordi's Viper Berg
I see your going to use a MFD upper link mount I have had one on my rear axle for a couple of months now. They are a nice piece. I broke my chassis at the rear upper link mount. The MFD mount never budged, solid as a rock. I finally got another one to use on the front
